Though very similar in design and use, pylon signs are typically larger and taller than most monument signs. Also, unlike monument signs which can be affixed directly to the ground, pylon signs require the use of one or more pylons connected to a concrete base to support the sign.
Outside of regular cleaning and occasional bulb replacements, pylon signs do not require much maintenance. Our pylon signs are specifically designed to withstand inclement weather conditions, so damage is not a common occurrence. However, after severe cold or extreme heat, it may be a good idea to have it checked to make sure there are no structural issues or warping.
Typically, yes. All major cities in Western Washington have building codes that require a permit for any large non-structural fixtures such as monument and pylon signs. Thankfully, our experienced sign manufacturers will handle the entire permitting process prior to beginning the installation.
